Texture and Color Take Front Stage by Terri Marie Wlaschin - featured on Jewelry Making Journal

The whole shebang…so far.

I feel this past year I am crawling out from a decades long self-imposed lockdown on color and patterning. I know I can be fearless, but first I usually have to wrestle with the beadzilla beast inside me that fights for caution.

I didn’t feel that while making these pieces. I treated them as practice and stopped feeding the fear beast who assures me adding this or doing that will simply ruin everything and all my work will be for naught.

The pieces were inspired by Neveneka’s nambi technique, Tracy Verdugo’s abstract art techniques, Virtual Art Box weekly blogs, Create Along veneer making, various collaging techniques, and many other artists whose work and teachings seem to have taken decades to be absorbed. Better late than never as they say!
